Takeo

The Kingdom of Cambodia has 24 provinces. Twenty khaitts or khets comprise the provinces of Cambodia. In addition to the twenty provinces of Cambodia the country also has four province-level municipalities or krongs. The word khaitts or khet loosely translated implies provinces. The provinces of Cambodia are further subdivided into districts or the srok. The sroks are further divided into communes which are referred to as khums.
The municipalities of Cambodia on the other hand are dividedinto sub sections called khan which are again further divided into quarters or sangkats. The municipalities are: Phnom Penh, Kep, Pailin and Sihanoukville.
